Night of the Demon

Night of the Demon (1957)  Jacques Tourneur

I remember watching this movie as a kid with my mom and I still love it. We’d catch it some Saturday afternoon and she’d make popcorn while I’d watch and wait for the demon to show up and rush the screen. An awesome old film that I’ll put on once in a while to recapture some of the innocence of the time.  This black and white gem is more suspense and drama than horror. A mystery that sums up movies of its time, Night of the Demon is a great movie to toss on when you want a little creepy nostalgia.

The mystery of this movie still holds up. Considering how old it is, this is a classic scare.

Oh yeah! This film holds up to this day. The pace is slow, but the story and characters are fantastic. It has a classic noir flavor mixed with classic horror of the period and the pay off is grand. If I had a $50,000,000 to spend, I’d remake this film in a heartbeat! :) (( ZOMBIELAND was made for around $24million. ))
    Still a fave.
