Once in the bluest of moons, a Stephen King story gets made into a movie and DOESN’T suck. This is one of those times. The novella by King had me turning page after page and when it was done I was deeply creeped. The audio version of the story was a really well done adaptation in a radio drama style and was brilliantly audio sculpted and enacted. The movie continues the escalation and was fairly true to the novella. There were some boundaries pushed at the end to make it even grimmer (NOT needed….it’s pretty friggin grim already!) , but even those changes were well played even if they were a bit heavy handed. Awesome creature effects and a truly claustrophobic feel top things off nicely.  Great fun especially for those of us in Fog City. I’d like to organize a MIST party on a foggy night, watch the film, then go for a walk in…the mist.
